The Arts, Film and Entertainment Division (AFED) has been created within
DBEDT to support and promote the growth and development of Hawaii’s
Creative Industry sector (which is defined as the economic activity of a broad
spectrum of commercial businesses, individuals, cultural enterprises, nonprofit
institutions and government agencies that directly or indirectly produce goods
and/or provide services that are rooted in, or generated by, artistry, design,
aesthetic value or cultural enterprise).
As a business advocate for this vital economic sector, it is AFED’s role to support
and implement programs, projects and activities that result in a Creative Industry
sector that is vibrant, sustainable, self-sufficient and internationally recognized,
and to develop and expand the domestic and foreign markets for Hawaii’s
products.
To accomplish this, we need your input. By completing this survey, you will be
providing important information that will lead to the development and
implementation of appropriate programs to accelerate the economic viability of
Hawaii’s Creative Industry sector.
Your participation will help us identify the needs of this unique sector which, as it
grows, will provide a direct economic contribution as well as enhance Hawaii’s
national and international image.
